Youth Leadership Somerset Youth Leadership Somerset is a scholarship program for young community leaders in grades 8-12 who live in Somerset County, New Jersey and are interested in developing their potential. The program prepares diverse individuals for leadership through education and workshops.Youth Leadership Somerset encourages young people to take active leadership roles in their community and to become resources as they work for the common good.The Youth Leadership Somerset program was created by the Leadership Somerset Class of 2000 as their class project. YLS is a partnership of Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Somerset County Business Partnership, Raritan Valley Community College, United Way of Nothern New Jersey, Somerset County, Business and Education Alliance, Leadership Somerset Class of 2000, Middle Earth, Somerset County Vocational and Technical School and the Somerset County Cultural Diversity Coalition.
